ZORZOR CITY, Lofa County โ Students of Faith Academy School have been encouraged to build lives defined by character, integrity, and service as they prepare for the next stage of their educational journey.
Delivering the keynote address at the schoolโs 2025/2026 Closing and Graduation Ceremony on Saturday, July 11, James Papy Kwabo, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Alternative Youth Radio (AYR), lecturer at Lofa County University, Mandela Washington Fellow, and MTN Liberia Hero of Change Award recipient, reminded graduates that education is measured not only by certificates but also by the values people choose to live by.
Speaking on the theme, โBeyond the Classroom: Becoming the Person Your Future Is Waiting For,โ Kwabo urged students to remain disciplined, humble, honest, and committed to serving others.
โA certificate may help you enter a room, but honesty, discipline, humility, and respect will determine how long people continue to trust you in that room,โ he told the graduates.
Throughout the address, Kwabo reflected on his own educational journey and encouraged students facing difficult circumstances not to allow temporary setbacks to determine their future. He also acknowledged the role played by mentors and supporters in his life, emphasizing that one personโs encouragement can transform the future of a young person.
Addressing parents, teachers, religious leaders, and community members, he stressed that raising responsible citizens requires a collective effort. He encouraged parents to continue investing in their childrenโs education, commended teachers for their lasting contribution to society, and called on community leaders to remain committed to creating opportunities for young people.
As part of the occasion, Kwabo announced additional educational support aimed at encouraging academic excellence and easing the transition of students to the next level of their education. The support includes assistance for all students promoted from the ninth to the tenth grade, recognition for students honored by the school for outstanding academic performance, and tuition support for the student who officially introduced the keynote speaker during the program.
According to Kwabo, the support forms part of his continuing commitment to expanding educational opportunities for young people across Lofa County through practical interventions that encourage academic achievement and reduce barriers to education.
Bringing his address to a close, he challenged every student to โbecome the person your future is waiting for,โ urging them to embrace faith, discipline, courage, and service as they pursue their dreams.
The ceremony brought together school administrators, teachers, parents, government officials, religious leaders, community members, alumni, and invited guests to celebrate the successful completion of Faith Academy Schoolโs 2025/2026 academic year. Students who distinguished themselves academically were recognized alongside members of the graduating class as the school officially closed another academic year.
